Vegetarian

Want to eat more vegetarian foods? Order this one. This soul-warming stew is a medley of spices in a flavour-rich tomato base, brimming with chickpeas.  It was the first vegetarian stew we served on our menus at childcare centres across the GTA. It’s a favourite for even the hardest to feed kids (or their parents!).

Ready to eat. Delivered frozen.

Recommended pairings: This is one versatile chowder! Delicious on its own as a ‘soup’ or poured over your favourite whole grain, like our Golden Quinoa Pilaf. Serve with a side green salad or crisp raw veggies.

Preparation Instructions: Thaw in fridge on a tray. Empty contents of package into a saucepan. Heat on medium heat, stirring occasionally until food is heated through. Consume within 48hrs after thawing. Enjoy!

INGREDIENTS: chickpeas (chickpeas, water, salt, calcium chloride, disodium dihydrogen), crushed tomatoes (tomatoes, citric acid), onions, bell peppers, carrots, celery, non-gmo sunflower oil, spices, fresh garlic, herbs, fresh ginger. Contains mustard. May also contain traces of gluten.

Product information and packaging may change. Refer to the package label for specific ingredient and nutritional information.

Chickpea Chowder

My 17 month old really liked this. I added some cooked quinoa to it to make it an easier consistency for her and it was the perfect addition to make it more of a one dish meal. Would like a version with more veggies or grains in it, but will buy this one again.

Delicious and versatile: a favorite chickpea dish!

Our kids love this dish with pearl couscous. They just gobble it up! We also sometimes use it as a base for Channa dal, by frying up and adding some curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, and cumin, corriander, and tumeric powder (and a small dash of cayenne), and serve it with roti and rice.

I like mixing the chickpea chowder with rice or quinoa. It is very tasty and filling!

Easy, tasty, and the whole family loves it

We heated some Naan to make it a meal. Minimal clean-up as it was eaten-up!

Good for kids, but I would like it a bit spicy for adults.
